Just Had to Tell You! Create your own Rub-on's

Grafix Rub-Onz Transfer Sheet

I just had to tell you about this new product that I am getting.  With the Grafix Rub Onz Transfer sheets you can now create your own rub ons from your computer.  I have been waiting for something like this to come out.  I’m so happy its now here!  From what I am understanding so far, you print out your graphic or lettering and apply an adhesive to the sheet and rub right on.  They come 4- 8.5x11 sheets to a package.  Ever since I got my Basic Grey rub on roller, I have been a rub on diva and now with this I don’t think anyone will be able to stop me!  LOL!  You know how there are those days when you are creating a card or a layout and you just don’t have a stamp that says exactly what you want it to?  Or the font is all wrong for the layout?  Well this should put an end to that problem.  If you have used this product, please leave a comment with how you liked this product.  I hope this inspires you to get out there and create!

And I keep going and going

Ok so I am continuing my quest to get the wedding album done.  I feel like the stupid energizer battery bunny.  If I wasn't on such a time constraint it would probably be easier, but I do this to myself alot. LOL  I am an admitted project masochist.

One thing I have found is that having page sketches has definitely helped speed things up.  I am keeping the entire album very simple and have decided to use the same 3 patterned papers and only two colors of cardstock for the whole album.

Here are my Bride and Groom pages.  Both pages have a white cardstock background and use a wide blue satin ribbon.  I also tied these two pages together with the flourish and used the same two patterned papers for the pages.  Check back later tonight and I will have more page layouts to post.

Wedding Layout

Well y'all know how far behind I am with my layouts. BUT....

I am starting the wedding album!  Whoo hoo.  3rd year anniversary is coming up and DH asked for an album of our wedding a while back.  So it's going to become his anniversary present.  Here is the cover page.  I want to keep this album super simple to appeal to his sense of style.  On this title page I put a rub on sentiment right on the photo.  The mat is an irridescent white.  The  PP is a very nice flocked paper I picked up at ACM.  There was no name on it.  I used the PP for both the scallop edge as well as our names.  I used the Cricut cartrige called Street Sign.

DD's 4th of July Layout

I am so proud of my DD.  This is the layout she completed the other night of our Fourth of July festivites.  We went up to a hill with some watermelon and had a great spot for watching fireworks from 6 different towns.  While we were up there we were goofing around.  For her first 12x12 layout, I think she did a very good job.  She is going to give me a run for my money should she continue scrappin.

Pen Holder

This was so simple to do.  The other night my daughter and I were spending time in my scraproom.  She was sitting on the couch watching a movie with me as I was at my table creating.  I noticed her looking at all my containers and storage items.  In particular she was looking at my SU markers box.  At that point she asked me why she couldn't have something like that.  Last year she got several American Craft Slick Writers at Crop for Healing in her goody bad and has been stuffing them in a baggie ever since.  I told her that I hadn't seen a storage container for her Slick Writers but would research it and see what I could come up with.  So after searching my house for inspiration (actually it was just me being cheap since I don't know if DD will continue scrapping), this is what I came up with.  On top of making a cute little pen holder for her, I was good in that I recycled a container in my pantry, rescued a leftover piece of paper from the trash and used my Cricut.  The pens fit perfectly by the way!

Recipe:

Find a container in your cupboard    (I used a container that holds powdered drink mix for the slick writers, for SU pens, or blender pens I suggest using a Pringles can).  Then I cut a pice of paper 6x9 (you may have to adjust this for your own container).  I used funky paper that I knew would appeal to my daughter.  I then adhered the paper to the container.  Remember to remove any paper covering the container first so that the PP will adhere well.  I used 1/2" ATG tape, but a Xyron Cheetah would work as well.  One thing you need to remember is to use very strong sticky tape. 

Once I had the tube papered, I worked on decorating the lid of the container.  I used Mini Monograms Cricut cartridge.  The 2.5 real dial size  circle worked perfectly. I added a ribbon and voila a pen holder for DD.
