Butterfly Card

I had just enough time today to make one card and take some time out for relaxation.  Today I decided to try something outside my normal box.  I had a half sheet of SEI scrapbook paper leftover from a page I had done and I loved the butterfly on the page.  I loved the flowers on the page as well.  So instead of using the paper as the background of my card, I decided to cut out the images I loved on the paper and create a card around it.  I love that the images have a little bling to them and sparkle.

I used a general sentiment so that I can use the card for any occasion.  The colors are SU Basic Gray, Sahara Sand and the sentiment and ribbon are done in Purely Pom .  The DSP is from SU.

Playing with Scraps - Wishing you well

Today I didn't have school so I went to my scrappin space to clean and organize, but the best laid plans and all that...  Well I put together a large pile of scraps and ended up sitting down and playing with my stamps.  I hope you enjoy these cards.

Unfortunately I have no idea what the name of the DSP is since I got it from the scrap pile but I do know that it is SU.  The Cardstock is Soft Sky, Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip.  The ribbons are Bashful Blue and Very Vanilla and the ink is Chocolate Chip.

Two Cards One Layout with Upsy Daisy and Technique Tuesday

I had major stampers block the other night.  I wanted to make some cards with patterned paper.  I brought out my binder with old layouts from Sheetloads of Cards.  I used the October 2007 layout and then changed it up a little bit.

For this first card I used Kiwi Kiss and Gray cardstock, SU DSP, Kiwi Kiss ink, Ribbon was from Michaels and the butterfly stamp was from TT and the sentiment is from CTMH.  I added some Diamond Stickles to the gray DSP to match the bling on the ribbon.

For this second card I used Soft Sky, Very Vanilla, River Rock and Chocolate Chip cardstock, SU DSP, some ribbon I found at Michaels and some little pearl beads I found in my scraproom.  For ink I used SU Chocolate Chip and Soft Sky and the sentiment is from CTMH.  I don't know if you will be able to see it in the pic but I distressed the edge of the vanilla circle with more of the Soft Sky ink.

I ended up really enjoying these two cards and I hope you do too.

Free Spirit

Sorry I have been gone so long.  I was redecorating and spring cleaning for the open house I had this past weekend.  My house went on the market last Thursday.  Open house went fairly well and all comments were good so I am happy.  So if you know of a scrapper or stamper in the Central Mass area looking for a cool townhouse that's already set up with a very large scrap and stamp studio send em my way.

Now that the open house is over I have finally been able to get back into my studio.  Look at the card I made tonight.  I really like how it came out.  I got the inspiration from a card I saw somewhere online about a month ago.  I'm sorry I cant give credit since I look at so many cards on a regular basis.

For this card I used my CTMH Free Spirit Stamp set.  First I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock that I got from work (which is almost as nice as Gina K's ultra smooth - but its free!  LOL), then I cut the sentiment out with my CM circle cutters.  I stamped and distressed with a dauber and CTMH Coco Ink.  Then I stamped two birds and cut them out.  I adhered the birds to a digital paper from Shabby Princess from the Sun Porch line. (I cropped and adjusted the paper and then printed it out on the white cardstock).  I popped up the circle frame with the high pop dots and popped one of the birds with a shorter pop dot.  The card base is SU's soft sky which seems to match perfectly with the patterned paper.  The last thing I did was add a bit of SU's River Rock ribbon.

Friends Forever

I got this image from the bunch that my friend Siberian Stamper up in Vermont sent me.  This is a Penny Black stamp called Tea Cozy.  Isn't it so sweet?  This was so much fun to color and then I stickled the teacup to give it a little bling and glitz.  I used my scallop nestie to frame the image.

I have a friend in Mississippi that I have known for almost 20 years now.  We have been thru so much together.  So I am going to be sending her this card to let her know that no matter how many miles separate us, we'll be friends forever.

 

Sorry I have been having to scan my pics, my camera seems to be acting like a man lately.  Maybe I just need some new batteries, haven't checked that out yet, actually just thought about it. LOL
