Well we are having a one of the first real storms of the winter here in Central Mass. We had a couple of minor storms earlier in the season but this one is bringing lots of wet snow and winds. Poor Coco doesn't even want to go out to do his business. School got cancelled so I had the morning to take a pic of a layout I did this past weekend at ScrapQueen's crop.
On Valentines Day this year DD and I went to Chinatown to have Dim Sum and walk around. In all my years of living in this state, I have never gone to Chinatown. Funny how we don't take advantage of the things and places that are so close to us. Chinatown is an amazing place. You hear very little English and the gardens and some of the architecture are very asian inspired. It was like a mini vacation! We started our day by visiting a bakery where we had no idea what it was that we were ordering. We got a two yolk lotus cake. It was pretty that was all we knew. Come to find out it tasted amazing! It had two hard boiled duck egg yolks waiting inside its lotus seed paste filling. If you ever get a chance get one. It may sound strange but it is fantastic in taste. After tasting the cake we headed to a restaurant where we heard they had great Dim Sum. Too bad the restaurant had a 2 hour waiting list and you had to wait on the street. I grabbed DD by the hand and said follow me. I had heard of another Dim Sum restaurant that was also good but that not many visitors went to due to its off the main street location as well as its run down looks. We hit the jackpot for sure! Most of the patrons when we went were Chinatown residents and there was little English spoken. We just pointed at what looked good half the time not knowing what we were eating. Everyone should go and do Dim Sum at some point in their life because its really alot of fun. Cart upon cart of wonderous foods passes by you and you are served a small portion of whatever you want. Think of it as a tasting menu. Our entire brunch came to $23. Can't beat that! I pay that for two of us to have breakfast at Denny's with not as good food. We ended our time in Chinatown doing some grocery shopping and Chinese Lantern shopping. This was probably the best Valentines Day I ever celebrated.
Enjoy!
Sounds like a fun day, and what a great page layout.
