This past weekend I had the opportunity, no the fortune, of going away to scrapbook for an entire weekend at Mountain Meadows Lodge in Killington,VT. I was meeting my friends Carol and Steph and meeting Vensung1 my fellow SCS'r. Three days to work on my pages to my hearts content. No work, no kids, no phone (at least not on me). Just me time. And it was very reasonable too! Only $165 a person double occ.

When I got there around 2:00pm, I was greeted by Bill the owner of Mountain Meadows and he took me for a tour of the facility. Wow. It felt like it went on forever! It is large in terms of size of the rooms, but only has 17 guest rooms so its small enough for lots of attention to be paid to the guests. Our small group for the weekend I was told would be able to choose which room of the inn that we would like him to set up as our workroom.

Well it was unanimous, we picked the music room complete with tons of windows, a beautiful view of the back lawn complete with animals roaming and the room also had the bar as well as a baby grand piano (which Bill played for us one evening).

The Bar was the perfect place to grab a cocktail before our wonderful meals which were cooked by Bill. The weekend included, full hot breakfasts, lunch on Saturday and Dinner on both Friday and Saturday. Friday we were treated to a BBQ and Saturday was our formal dinner in the dining room complete with a huge dessert of warm brownies topped with ice cream!

My room that I stayed in was perfect. Handmade quilt on the bed and a balcony to sit on overlooking the lake with a perfect view of Pico Mountain. At sunset the lake becomes the most beautiful ethereal place in the world. Mist was rising up from it and there was a lone canoe on the lake. It really was straight out of a Kinkade painting.

There are many animals roaming the lawns at Mountain Meadows. They are let out in the morning and brought in at night. On Friday night we met the MM Mascot, Alice. The most adorable pot belly pig!

If you ask, you can get food to feed her. And of course I asked and we became fast friends. She was more like a puppy dog than a pig. When I would take walks she would follow me and grunt asking to be petted. The goats and sheep were so cute too. Charlie the baby billy goat liked to look in the window at us as did Alex the Shetland pony. Actually Alex has been known to walk into the inn unannounced when the doors have been left open!
I had so much fun and got so much accomplished this past weekend. I can't wait to go again (and it so happens that the next SB weekend is my birthday weekend in August!)

So here are some more pics for you. If you happen to be in the area, or want to take a great trip this summer, I'd love to meet you at Mountain Meadows in August. I'll bring the birthday cake, just no one bring the birthday candles cause we'll burn the place down!
