Thanksgiving Card

I thought I would make my mom a Thanksgiving card this year.  Since I finally learned how to use my nestabilities (thank goodness my neighbor is never home!) after almost a year of playing with them and cursing at them, I decided to use them for this card.  I decided I didn't want to emboss but just cut with the nesties, so I was back to the drawing board.  Two hours later I had my black and white cardstock cut.  LOL  Sometimes it just takes me longer.  Especially when the technology is more human than electronic.

For this card, I used Baha Breeze cardstock, and stock white and black cardstock.  the patterened paper is from My Mind's Eye and the ribbon is a black velvet from my friend Jess' flower shop Dodo's Phlowers in Leominster.  The wheat stamp is from CTMH's November Word Puzzle and the Happy Thanksgiving stamp is from Mike's.

Hello my friends - Well I accepted an offer on Sunday night.  My home was on the market for one week.  I'm really excited about it, but I was really thinking it would take a minimum of 6 months so it caught me completely off guard.  On top of that the buyer wants a quick close, so I need to be out of here by April 6.  Yikes!  I don't know how I am going to do that.  As of right now I have no housing prospects for a home and haven't found anyplace that would be willing to do a short term rental.  Worst case senario I can go back to camp early but there won't be any water till May 1!  I was originally planning for an out of state move but some family problems have put that on the back burner for a bit. 

Another bit of great news...I got my latest shipment in from SU.  I got the Thoughts and Prayers set this time around.  I just love that tree.  Since I have to keep the house showroom nice, I am not bringing out alot of items to make cards.  Keeping to the clean and simple cards.  Here is the one I created tonight.

So now that you have seen what I created with my new set I wanted to show you how I am storing my set.  I unmounted my rubber from the foam and remounted it to EZ mount.  Then I took the SU clam shell and cut it to hold my stamps.  I used 6x6 clip it up storage envelopes to store the set.  The storage envelopes allow me to hold more stamps in less space, plus since they are all the same size, it makes them great to stack.  Here are some pics for you.

Free Spirit

Sorry I have been gone so long.  I was redecorating and spring cleaning for the open house I had this past weekend.  My house went on the market last Thursday.  Open house went fairly well and all comments were good so I am happy.  So if you know of a scrapper or stamper in the Central Mass area looking for a cool townhouse that's already set up with a very large scrap and stamp studio send em my way.

Now that the open house is over I have finally been able to get back into my studio.  Look at the card I made tonight.  I really like how it came out.  I got the inspiration from a card I saw somewhere online about a month ago.  I'm sorry I cant give credit since I look at so many cards on a regular basis.

For this card I used my CTMH Free Spirit Stamp set.  First I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock that I got from work (which is almost as nice as Gina K's ultra smooth - but its free!  LOL), then I cut the sentiment out with my CM circle cutters.  I stamped and distressed with a dauber and CTMH Coco Ink.  Then I stamped two birds and cut them out.  I adhered the birds to a digital paper from Shabby Princess from the Sun Porch line. (I cropped and adjusted the paper and then printed it out on the white cardstock).  I popped up the circle frame with the high pop dots and popped one of the birds with a shorter pop dot.  The card base is SU's soft sky which seems to match perfectly with the patterned paper.  The last thing I did was add a bit of SU's River Rock ribbon.

Are you ready for some Valentines?

Have you done up all your Valentines cards yet?  I'm doing really well this year and all my valentines and valentines gifts are out already.  Yippee.  I'm usually at least a week behind so I'm enjoying this moment.

Here is a card I recently did for Valentines (click on image to enlarge it)   .  I used an image by Penny Black that was sent to me by my Stampin Sistah Siberian Stamper up in the great white north.  I loved this image so much that I found it online and bought it with the money I made selling all my extra stamp sets on ebay.

I used my prismas, stampin write markers to color the image.  The PP is from Stampin Up Berry Bliss, and the cardstock is SU Real Red.  The sentiment is from a Stampin up panel stamp that I cut apart to make various sentiments eons ago.  I mounted the stamps on dominoes way back when.  I found the dominoes are not sturdy enough with the way I mounted them for my liking so I am unmounting them all onto EZ mount.  The Heart stamp I used is from the very bottom of my stamping drawer.  I have no idea who makes it.  I got it at Mikes in the $1 bin.

This next card is one I did at a Great Impressions class at Ink About it in Westford, MA  I just love this card.  The image of the peacock is another one I am adding to my wish list.  The heart flourish I got as part of the class fee since it was the stamp of the month.  I stamped the images with a black Memories ink and then colored in with copics, then I added glitter to some areas to give it some pop.    I'll have to make this card again soon.  I just love it.

Friends Forever

I got this image from the bunch that my friend Siberian Stamper up in Vermont sent me.  This is a Penny Black stamp called Tea Cozy.  Isn't it so sweet?  This was so much fun to color and then I stickled the teacup to give it a little bling and glitz.  I used my scallop nestie to frame the image.

I have a friend in Mississippi that I have known for almost 20 years now.  We have been thru so much together.  So I am going to be sending her this card to let her know that no matter how many miles separate us, we'll be friends forever.

 

Sorry I have been having to scan my pics, my camera seems to be acting like a man lately.  Maybe I just need some new batteries, haven't checked that out yet, actually just thought about it. LOL

Christmas Cards

Ok -  yes I know that we just finished Christmas season, but I got in my Stampin Up Sleigh Bells Ring set on Friday (ordered it back in December when it went on sale) and just had to play with it right away.  And since I am doing stamp to spend, I thought I should make at least enough cards to cover my costs of the order (check out the sidebar to see how I am doing).  I made 24 cards in total.  My first three were samples to figure out which one I liked best.  Two came out better than the rest, but I ended up choosing the one below with the scalloped oval as my main card.

• Cardstock:  SU Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke, Cranberry Crisp
• Ink: Cranberry Crisp
• Sentiment:  CTMH Festive Thoughts
• Images:  SU Sleigh Bells Ring
• Ribbon:  SU Chocolate Chip

I started out by stamping the 1.5x4 Very Vanilla with the holly berry stamp, then I used my cricut to cut out ovals to stamp the sleigh scene on and adhered it to a Nestie cut scallop oval.  The sentiment from CTMH says This season the best gift of all... is your friendship (stamped on the inside). I also stamped the holly berry on all the envelopes and colored them in.

 I really like the Currier and Ives feel of the card.  I am happy with the clean lines too.  I now have all my Christmas Cards ready and waiting to be sent out the day after Thanksgiving.  Whoo hoo for once I am ahead.  LOL

Happy Birthday

In the last couple of years I have "met" some of the most wonderful friendly ladies over on Splitcoast Stampers.  Recently, I had the opportunity to meet Siberian Stamper when she asked about swapping some images for bellas.  I PM'd her and sent her off some of my bellas, and shortly thereafter I received some of the cutest images from her.  I have finally had the time tonight to color in some of the images.  This one is from P Black Stamps and its called "Life of the Party".  I didn't add too much to the card and kept it really simple so that the colors would pop out at you.  I used my Prisma's to color in the tabby cat and used my Stampin Write Markers for the balloons, hat and present.  The sentiment coumes from CTMH's From Me to You set.  I can't wait to give this to my cousin's daughter for her 10th birthday. 

 

I also wanted to thank Siberian Stamper Anna for the lovely images.  I am looking forward to making more cards with the images I received.

Stationary and Card Box

Happy Friday to you all!   It’s been a really rough week here in Massachusetts.  I have been running around all week trying to get more “stuff” outta my house, putting up two large lot auctions on eBay for a Stampers Dream Lot and Scrapbooking Dream Lot and trying to keep up with DD’s mood swings.  Arghh can we just say I am in desperate need of a vacation? 

In order to give myself some sanity, I found some time the other night to do this cute little Stationary/Card Box that I found the directions to here on SCS. It was originally made by Raelene.  I switched mine around a bit from the original directions, putting the 5” section for the base of the box and using the 6” section for my sides.  This box was really easy to make and a lot of fun. I love this box.  It fits up to four cards nicely on each side (for pictures sake I only put one on each side).  I made it to give to my mom for Valentine’s Day. 

I filled it with monogrammed note cards for her, using papers to match the box.  I could even see giving a box like this with notes and a monogrammed candle in the center of the box for a birthday present.  Also, next time I think I may use a scallop edge punch on the box top, like my threading water punch to give it a little extra flair.

For the cards inside I used SU Pink Pirouette CS for the card base and SU Chocolate Chip and Purely Pomegranate CS and Berry Bliss DSP for the accents.  I used the Martha Stewart Monogram Set for the monograms.

 

 

For this box I used SU Chocolate Chip CS, SU Berry Bliss DSP, a 1/2” organdy ribbon and for the top of the box, I had some teardrop pearls from Michaels jewelry section that I threaded onto an eye pin.

Hattitude

As I have been going through my stamps I have come across stamps that I forgot I had.  This stamp set is SU's Hattitude.  The perfect set for when a girlfriend is having a hard time seeing her value.  I have several friends going thru rough personal times right now.  And I want every woman to know to Celebrate your Fabulousness!  Wear that bright red dress, wear red lipstick!  I have read that the color red invokes a feeling of power.  So when you're feeling down wear red. For this card I used real red cardstock and real red ink, as well as black cardstock and black ink.  I have always loved how red, black and white look together. I started by stamping the red cardstock in real red ink with the two hat stamps that come with this set, then I stamped the hattitude circle sentiment on a 2" circle I cut with my cricut and aadhered it to a 2 1/2 inch circle scallop from my Mini monograms cartridge.  I stamped Celebrate your fabulousness in basick black.  I popped the sentiment in the scallop circle with some SU dimensionals.

For a little added oomph I put some stickles on the hat to bring out some details in the hat.

Thank you Card

First I want to say I'm sorry for the poor picture quality.  There is something funny going on with my camera.  I'm trying to figure it out.

I made these cards to send out to my parents and boss to thank them for my Christmas gifts.  These were put together from some old papers I had laying around the studio.  Funny the stuff you find when you pull everything out of your scrap space and reorganize it.

 The pink pearl cardstock is from the Paper Company, the patterned paper is from SU DSP Berry Bliss.  The ribbon is SU Chocolate chip and the pink is some scrap I had laying in a basket in my studio. The tag is stamped from SU Too Terrific Tags.  I colored in the tags and then added some pop with some Glossy Effects.
